The Mountain View Hotel
Depart Cairns and head south past Walshs Pyramid, a distinct peak with a pyramidal appearance and on to the first stop, The Mountain View Hotel – a classic old Queenslander pub located on the Gillies highway at the start of the range.
Airborne again, you’re soon flying over the top of the impressive Gillies Range and past Copperlode Dam – an oasis of freshwater and rainwater. You will soon touch down at the pub number two, The Billabong in Kuranda. Nestled amongst pristine tropical rainforest, its easy to relax on the huge timber deck overlooking the water with a unique view of the eucalypt woodlands.
Hop back in the chopper for your flight back to Cairns, where you will enjoy spectacular views of Barron Gorge and its tumbling falls along the way. The fun doesn’t stop here – we’ll take you to one last pub in Cairns City to wrap up your tour.
