Daintree National Park
Just a short flight from Cairns or Port Douglas, you will be spellbound by the World Heritage Daintree National Park. From above, it’s an impenetrable sea of green. An amazing, living natural museum home to ancient plants and animals. A wild and beautiful landscape.
Fly over the Mossman Gorge, in the southern reaches of the Daintree Rainforest. The gorge has been carved out over thousands of years by the Mossman River, which tumbles down steep ravines filled with giant granite boulders. An untamed natural paradise.
Fly further north over the mighty Daintree River, one of the longest rivers on Australia’s east coast. Snaking its way through thick rainforest for 140km, the Daintree River flows out into the Coral Sea.
Fly over Cape Tribulation, the only place on Earth where two World Heritage areas meet. The Reef and the Rainforest. This is one of the most biologically diverse areas on the planet. Relax on the long sandy beach, or explore the rainforest boardwalks.
Port Douglas and Cairns
Track back down the coast, passing over Port Douglas on your way to Cairns. Port Douglas is a vibrant hub of cosmopolitan life, a fusion of resorts, day spas, cafes, restaurants and village life. Cairns is home port for one of the largest Great Barrier Reef tour fleets and the perfect place to start your discovery of Queensland’s Tropical North.
